um

so it's memorial day and it's crap outside. last nigth we drank the holiday in at allison's apt with a bit offlame. i'm curious if the cops parked outside the apartment building were there to register a complaint against our dinner. hmph.

i woke up once at 8am, and then went back to sleep until noon. i've now watched enough tv that i'm ready to do something.

boobies

They were in full force in AC. Geez. Hovanec put them on the cover of her
ofoto album.

I finally had a chance to look at them, and it's like going all over again.

crap, i forgot my black pants

for my trip to atlantic city i will be limited in my wardrobe choices. basically i can go as a tart. after not doing laundry for a few weeks, there are plenty of suits hanging around, along with dresses. i brought one cute dress, and one that i'm not sure i'll even wear. black, plunging. red flowers on it. boob focus. and, erm, never mind. damn, forgot socks. hmph.

i packed last night b/c book club is tonight. staying at e's otherwise i'd have to leave book club really early. (and considering i missed it last time, i prefer not to.)

i'm so excited for our little AC trip to celebrate erin's bday. when it actually rolled around i was yawning. not because it was a non-event, but because i was tired from not sleeping all week. (I fully intend to sleep on the bus on the way there though.)

what did the number 0 say to the number 8?

Nice Belt!

From Jon Corzine's camp.

adult posing as child asks for funny joke of politicians

glad to see my tax dollars at work

given a choice

i wouldn't mind dining room chairs like this...

rain, rain, go away

is what i was thinking this morning at 12.45am when the thunder and lightning descended upon queens. i swear a bolt hit something near by. thankfully when parents drove home, the rain didn't follow them out beyond nassau. it was quiet. i was kind of worried as it was so a) dark and b) raining. Ok, and that the dad had just consumed so much food he was ready for a nap (and refused coffee).

let's see. since i use this to remind myself of what i've been up to (since i'll be theonly 40 year old w//Alzheimers), I present Saturday:

    -
  • cable dude early visit
  • rentals arrive with dining room table (SO excited)
  • bookshelf nearly assembled, but shelves and doors not (dad forgot the power screwdriver - buying one today)
  • mattresses finally placed on bed frame (i really want the bed i saw at anthropology)
  • alison's generous donation of a couch/futon picked up (disassembly required)
  • alison's generous donation not as easy to assemble so it's in a pile in my living room (i wasn't paying attention when unscrewing things as there was a lively phone conversation on going. plus i was in a rush. duh. need to call ikea for the details. not going to be pleasant task as their customer service sucks.)
  • another visit to alisons to drop off RU21 (a.k.a the miracle drug. check out their website . i picked up a small box at the GNC. orders are being accepted for my run the first week of June, when I can buy a combo box for $30 w/ a $7 discount, plus 20% on top of that.)
  • costco closes at 7 - wah
  • view of manhattan only marred by the realization that housing project residents have a better view than i do. or most of queens. (i want to look into the risks of purchsing a shack in the most crime ridden area - it's that pretty)
  • PC richards - a/c salesperson not amused by my "Go Away. You're annoying" comment. I need to do a bit of research on BTUs and Energy Efficiency ratings before i shell out the bucks. I'm at the 8-9000 BTU range.
  • Stop and Shop with a car is a whole different story than on foot or w/car service.
  • Dinner was picked up at a small Colombian restaurant. We supplemented the chicken with mozz/tom salad w/ rasberry vinagrette, white asparagus (which my mother would have preferred a creamy accompanying sauce), yuka, plaintains, and , erm, something else. Oh right! dessert. Vanilla ice cream w/blackberries.

thank god

the internet has arrived in chez moi.

but only after a panicked call to erin was placed. I FORGOT my login password. I was confusing it with a work variation, and could not open my laptop this morning. it was horrible. i was near panick when i remembered i sent a R.I.P email for safekeeping. (hey, a bird almost flew into my apartment. must remember to ask the super for a screen for that window).

returning to my morning drama, luckily reliable friends abound in my life. more importantly, organized and methodical qualities balance out my scattered mess of adulthood. the cable guy was late (relative term), and also forgot to ask me for the check i don't have.

they were supposed to come at 12-4, but called BEFORE 8.30 am to ask if it was ok to come in 15 to 20 minutes. um. sure. "So i could enjoy the rest of the day."

thankfully they showed at 9.30 ish. sufficient time to for erin to fix my mess. (thank you!!!)

so later, now that i have the internet (whee!) i can tell you about the wedding preparty we somehow walked into. free open bar. had i been smarter, i would have ordered an expensive scotch like the hot guys at the bar. (shame on them, they put it on ice. who drinks scotch on ice??)

we had no idea! (the first round). the second i was prepared to pay if cornered, but the bartender was too busy to pick up on my nervousness. ha. only in new york can you walk right around a bouncer with a clipboard obliviously. that goes to show how infrequently i go to red velvet places. private party my foot.

anyhoo. rentals are arriving shortly to bring me a table *Hurray! and to help assemble a bookshelve. god love them.

not so subtle

watching the big O. and she's grunting at me.

1) for not continuing to rub her belly

and

2) for daring to consume peanuts w/o sharing.

I'm at Erin's tonight hanging out w/the hairy little beast tonight. The mom is off in the middle of god-for-saken-somewhere where 1 BR suites have walk-in closets (ooooo...). I'm entertained by the dog who has put me in a slightly less than foul mood.

My monthly finally is ending, taking me on a cranky downward spiral. That, and I'm annoyed at how much the tax man takes out of my paycheck. It doesn't seem fair to work OT only to see it sucked away. The increase after the fed steps in sucks. Bleh. But I did enjoy moving away from the trolls, so it seems worth it. Now i just want a wee bit more of cash in my pocket. Or less of a micro managing manager. Or something. The project is interesting. And lord knows I can't say anything about it (ever:). But perhaps that's a good thing. Hmm..

I need:
- a tv
- cable
- internet cable
- to paint
- to assemble my bike
- hang curtains
- get a dining room table

oh, and a perhaps a date in the next century?

uh oh. i forgot to bring clothes for tomorrow. duh, that was stupid. but thankfully i'm wearing black pants. t-shirt e?

you know, there are only a few things i really miss from tv so i've decided to hold off on obtaining cable until the fall rolls around. which reminds me, i'm poor until 2 weeks from now so i can't do anything for entertainment unless it involves credit:) well, plus i'm not allowed to do anything after work. i'm perturbed by the cab fare hike. i haven't trecked home yet on a paying ride, but wonder what the big sticker shock will be like. what are we talking about, 20? 25? sigh. well. fine. i do love the space (even if it's not nearly as organized as allison's already is. i need to be home to actually do something about it.)

time for internet browsing w/o big brother looking over my shoulder... la la la

Pandora's Box

I now have a Banana Republic credit card.

BTW the haircut I initially did not really like is beginning to grow on me. har har. horrible pun, not intended i swear. after some consideration, it's not as bad as i originally thought. and it's humid today, so we'll see.

Figures

I ran out of time to pick some up, and it runs 20 bucks to start

It is yummy though. Hmph.

What else? Food

In Austria I had the pleasure of seasoning my salad with pumpkin seed oil. Curious if anyone else has tried the same. Need to poke around NYC to see what I can find.

Today was nice, I spoke to my brother for a long stretch. Had a beve in Central Park, and meandered like a tourist wherever I felt like going. I pretended to be a dog owner, with none of the responsibility by springing Ophelia a few hours early. I'm waiting for Hovanec to return to have an early Cinco de Mayo drink, and then I'm crashing like a log. The sun zapped the energy out of me. Or perhaps I finally ran out of caffeine.
