I hate monday

All of them. They make me tired, no matter how hard I try to prevent
that from happening.

TV

Dude, I forgot what it feels like to sit and vege out. Plus I just realized I've fallen impossibly behind on Third Watch and have no idea how the season ended. Bummer. I liked that show. I started watching it when I was in San Diego with the brother.

Sundays

and weekends in general, just pass by too fast. E came to visit Saturday and caught a 4.40something train back to Penn. The fam and I exchanged a brick, and then I took a nap until 8.30. Apparently this means I won't be able to catch the 90210 reunion on tv tonight. Groan. (Kidding) I can't believe that was an idea actually sanctioned by a network exec. WHO is going to watch that? I'd be curious to see what the rating breakdown for tv viewing is for tonight (including cable). Does anyone have any idea how to find that out?

Hmmmm. So much to tell, and little energy to use. I think I'm going to shower before I dig into my homework for class. I have to rethink a few things and would prefer to let my hair dry while I do it. (Not that you care or need to know that.) I get up tomorrow a 5 - well - I need to leave by 5.20 to catch the 5.46 (which is a step up from taking the 5.29 thankyouverymuch). Oh, how the time flies.

I was pooped from my relaxing fun weekend. It was fabulous shopping in LI with someone who 1) enjoys the same stores as I do and 2) who possesses a greater level of stamina:) Seriously, we didn't get home until nearly 9pm last night. Places visited: Target, Vitamin Shoppe, Mega Marshalls, a liquor store, and Trader Joe's. Dinner was served around 10pm, while bedtime fell somewhere around 1 (I think). I don't why I'm fascinated with time right now (probably b/c I feel like I don't have any), but my body was telling me I needed more sleep. Hence the nap.

Today we spent nearly an hour looking for a NY Times. Seriously, we went to at least 5 places and they were all out by lunchtime. SO annoying. But thankfully we nabbed the last one at a deli. Today consisted of beauty treatments and leisurely tv watching. And then it was gone. Zip! If you come out to visit and you're a girl be sure to inquire about the paraffin bath option. You will have hands and feet of silk afterwards. Promise.

This week:
...The start of class
...Trisha's show (yay!) on Tuesday
...Matrix II (whatever it's called)
...Origins ?
...The MOMA in Queens (well, that's Saturday)

Ok, gotta start my stuff. I'm not in the mood, but whatever. Happy cheers the lot of you.

dude, adults aren't supposed to have tantrums

Are they?

I just watched one implode in person and it was fascinating. Must find
time to tell the story later. Now, I'm heading out the door. Tired and
still suffering the affects of last night. I am too old to do that ever
again. And yes, I should know better.

oy

i will never ever drink on a relatively empty stomach.

ow.

dude, people are funny sometimes

and i don't mean in a ha-ha sense. money is a motivator for behavior
when you become an adult. if you're a parent, a pet owner, hobby
enthusiast, sport fanatic etc. you may engage in behavior that is not
rewarded through compensation, but that's just not me.

i am self-serving and loose sleep only to read, drink and be merry. if
you're my boss there are expectations of when i'll come and go, and what
i'll deliver. when i work PT for you, boy, do i have things to say about
that. but not right now. suffice it say, i did not enjoy having my ear
chewed yesterday afternoon. whatever. and i say that with inflection, as
my relationship with teaching may only last another semester. i'm not
sure i agree that i need to be on call OUTSIDE of class sessions.
responding to a slew of emails is just not a priority. especially at 4
am. i will remain in contact with my thesis students at that hour, but
don' thave 'an extra ten' to do much of anything else except grab my
breakfast. blah. how annoying.

paranoia

weirdness with the academic folk. silence is even worse. and i'm one
lighter a student for this round of papers. (thank goodness.) in theory
I'm booked for class to start next week. in reality i've populated the
requested data. but i suspect that none of this may matter shortly.
hmph.

sunnyside it is

The call came! Yippee! Looks like I'll be living in The Queens again.
The misses of the house returned from Boston and confirmed her Friday
message. (I, the worry wart, need no longer furrow my brow. And what is
up with my grammat today?) Anyway, v. excited!

the only thing left to dooooooooooo

is jump Over the Moon.

I have joined the tuned-in group and purchased a CD walkman thingamagig.
Yes, I know, everyone else jumped on that bandwagon years ago. Eons. I
resisted largely out of fear implanted in my brain care of my sometimes
overbearing maternal strings. (Heaven forbid I not hear a mugger
pounding down the sidewalk behind me. I also have a cell phone, bet
that's driving her nuts.) Anyhoo, LOVEd loved listening to music on the
way into work this morninng. I had been dying to hear Rent again since
seeing it last week, so I picked up a cute little Sony at Target last
night only to realize I had forgotton to purchase batteries. After some
frantic digging I found my rechargeables and plugged them in. (Why it
takes fifteen hours to charge batteries is beyond me.) Boy that made my
morning. (The one which started with my alarm ringing at 5 am.)

Oh! I remembered to pick up CDRs for the source of my music connection.
Trisha trisha I owe you. As soon as I unwrap them I'll either mail or
drop off replacements.

Let's see....getting here super early is annoying but allows me time to
read the paper and drink my coffee without fear of overlap with my work
hours. The downside, of course, is that I absolutely positively must be
in bed the night before by 10 pm. One for the other, and I'm off for the
day. Have a good one folks!

Yay!

My friend Lauri and Bob had a healthy girl! Everyone meet Rachel:

Oops. Caffeine.

My paranoia just erased my efforts of the last three minutes. I
explained yesterday and the possible theatre connection I have for
Trisha in an email post...but I used the wrong alias. Can't resend
either b/c I already deleted it and dumped it from my trash. But I
think this system will work for me.
