A Cheery Cold Morning
I'm up before dawn b/c I had a conference call with TK and LN.
Bleh. But go irene for assertion. I've become hard core. Passing "You must do this" mandates to folks left and rigth with the approval of my boss. Funniest thing ever. I'm a pariah, but performing my job function well. Oh, the irony. But things happen.
Whatever. I'm more excited about my delivery in two plus hours. Ikea is coming! Granted, as I worked so late Wednesday, my room definitely not prepared for massive change. I had hoped to pile things up in a corner ahead of time, but will only start that this morning. And as I was jammed up at the office, i did not venture to Astoria ahead of time to purchase a bed frame. So all the crap that presently resides under my bed will be piled next to my closet. Or, more likely. I'll put all of the stuff on top of my mattresses until later in the day. Actually, ALL of the stuff in my room will fall in that category. I forgot how late Matt and Flora are around weekdays. Ikea provided a range of 8-12....I was hoping to avoid the roomies all together.
Couple of reasons:
- Conversation two days ago about food
- Recent bill sent to my email work account
If you know me, you know how the roomies prefer to let bills collect dust before paying. At a late hour they elt me know my amount and ask for a check. I think it's ridiculous to expect an immediate turnaround. And I like to make them wait. The fact is often that I have the money, but they don't. But they should plan a little better.
The total for this billing cycle was somthing like 116. The parts I need to dispute surround the cleaning service and the cable. The last time I paid cable, I paid for two months. I wrote a check for two months...but in looking at my statement, think they forgot to deposit the check. In theory I've paid. They're just so disorganized they don't know that. But they've forgotten the double payment. This was before the other room started using cable for the computer, so his usage I had chalked up as a freebie. (What else is new?) (Not to mention that the start up cost was incurred solely by me. It was 50 bucks. Whatever. URGH. Just rememebered the hassle it was to arrange for the cable guy to show up. And the day i took off from work to do it.)
Cleaning Service.
My part is now $33. Er, when we first talked about a person coming in, it was for $20 each. Then it was going to be $80 split. Not a hundred. Sorry. The high end cleaning services only charge $17 an hour, for a 4 hour minimum. Bad planning over here. I don't want conflict, but i don't want to subsidize the fact they're slobs.
And finally, my personal favorite: sharing of things I've bought.
Flora: "Irene, how was that red pepper spread?"
What spread?
The one in the fridge.
Er...not sure....
Matt: Oh. That was me. I was starved and had nothing to put on my pretzles.
RIGHT. That's why I go shopping in antipation of needing things. I don't care if it pisses them off. I'm buying TODAY storage bins for under the sink to keep my food. I'm tagging everything with stickers and numbering them. If you want to drink ginger ale (a popular item these days) GO TO THE F*CKING STORE.
Unreal.
