What the hell?

Go ahead, ask me

I made a commitment.

No, I did not get married in Vegas.

I spent money on myself. Alone, not exactly noteworthy. But for just me, inconsiderate of recent economic cycles, I purchased a wardrobe for the corner of my room (more room for the clothes spread all over the place) *and* a new full-sized mattress box spring set.

My Pax Birkeland is skimming my ceiling (3 inches to spare - hope the floor isn't crooked), and the built in pant hanger thing was totally unnecessary. (The real luxury item - the Komplement pull out shelf with dividers - was apparently a big hit with the rest of the IKEA population, as they're sold old. I'm buying online. Or going to Jersey. I MUST have this.)



My doors look like the longer ones on the right. And come the day I tire of a corner unit, I can pull it apart. Poof. S-shaped tool here you come. Bam. A flat wall unit it becomes.

I went for white.

Bonde will need to make friends with Pax. I have a neat bookshelf thing too! (But they were out of glass doors, so I only bought two plain white ones today. I'll leave the middle shelf, or maybe the top, open with the CD player until I can obtain one.

No knobs yet. I couldn't bear to contemplate fixtures. I was torn to learn that Docent only comes in brown. Not exactly a match made in heaven for the color scheme I have going. Alas, that kind of set up will have to wait. Until I get my own gdamn apartment one day. sigh.

They come Thursday.
I can't wait!

For $99 plus tax Ikea provides a 4 hour window one has to be home. I'm taking the rest of the day off for assembly. Which reminds me, I need to find a mattress bag for termporary housing. My mother is salivating at the thought of the day bed in the big room upstairs. She's had her eye on it for ages.


Ask me what else I want, and I shall point you to...

  (mind you, I'd obviously need a home big enough to accomodate something the size of a manhattan studio indoors)

The shipping charge alone on these things is more than I can think about. Who on earth has a portable sauna? And how can I become friends with this person??

I wouldn't mind having a concept2 rowing machine of my very own.
